Samsung has announced a full-scale adoption of external generative AI tools across all its business operations. This will support its “AI Transformation” ambitions while fundamentally changing its work and organizational culture. The company plans to officially kick off the initiative this month.

Samsung’s external AI adoption could boost its work culture

Samsung’s all affiliates will now use external AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. These tools will play a big role in several areas, including product development, manufacturing, software, and marketing. The company intends to use AI not just as a simple tool, but as a way to push innovation and create new growth momentum.

As of now, Samsung is preparing detailed operational policies depending on different job roles and organizational needs. The company wil will also run an AI training program for the presidents of all its affiliates. About 50 presidents will attend a two-day training session at the Hoam Hall of the Samsung Human Resources Development Institute.

Moreover, Samsung will also run executive training for all affiliates until August 12. Each session will last three days and two nights, with about 2,300 participants. The company will use this program for presidents and executives initially to kick off AI transformation across business units.

As a result, management will be able to redesign work using AI and make necessary organizational changes. The Korean firm will then expand training to all employees, aiming to complete the rollout by 2026.

Furthermore, Samsung plans to set up dedicated AI organizations within all affiliates. The organizations will prepare AI strategies for each business to support the company’s overall AI transformation. While the company adopts external AI tools, it will also implement a security system to manage risks.

“The AI Transformation serves as a starting point for innovation to leap forward as an AI Native company, and we will preempt and lead the opportunities of the AI era,” said a Samsung official.
