Samsung Rolls Out May 2026 Update for Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has started rolling out the May 2026 security update for the Galaxy S26 series. Users on One UI 8.5 are now getting this month’s security fixes, following an earlier debut on the One UI 9 beta firmware. The latest patch has already been released for a bunch of other devices.
Galaxy S26 lineup gets May 2026 security patch
Last week, Samsung rolled out the first One UI 9 beta update for the Galaxy S26 series. It bundled the May 2026 security patch with the new firmware. However, since the beta program is limited to select regions — the UK, the US, Germany, and South Korea — most S26 users remained on the older patch. Samsung is now upgrading them to the latest fixes.
The May 2026 update is currently rolling out to the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra in some European markets. The devices are getting firmware version AZE2 with the new patch. The update should gradually expand to more regions over the coming days. Those who skipped One UI 9 Beta in supported markets will also get the new security release.
Samsung has already revealed that its May 2026 Security Maintenance Release (SMR) includes fixes for a total of 39 vulnerabilities affecting Android and Galaxy devices. Some of the fixes reportedly address critical security vulnerabilities affecting core system components. While the update does not introduce major new features, users are strongly advised to install it to keep their devices protected and stable.
The Galaxy S26 series may get One UI 9 Beta in Poland and India later this month. However, the beta program is unlikely to expand further. If you live in any other region, you must wait for the stable release, which should arrive by September. To check for updates on your Galaxy phone, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
