Breaking! One UI 8.5 Also Available for Galaxy A36

Samsung is expanding the stable rollout of One UI 8.5 for its mid-range Galaxy lineup. After the Galaxy A56 started receiving the update earlier, the Galaxy A36 has now joined the party as well. These devices are currently getting the new version in South Korea, but the update should arrive in additional regions over the next several days.

Over the past couple of weeks, Samsung has released One UI 8.5 for several flagship phones, including foldables. It has now covered all high-end models released in 2024 and 2025 with One UI 8.5 globally. Additionally, Samsung’s 2023 flagships — Galaxy S23 series, Fold 5, and Flip 5 — have received One UI 8.5 in Korea, with a global rollout expected soon.

Now, the Korean firm is putting the spotlight on its mid-range devices as well. Shortly after the Galaxy A56, the Galaxy A36 is also getting Samsung’s latest software experience. Users in South Korea can identify the update through a firmware version ending in CZDA. As usual, the rollout appears to be happening in phases, so not everyone may receive it immediately.

One UI 8.5 delivers a myriad of visual and usability refinements to Galaxy phones. The update introduces a more polished and fluid user experience across the system, with translucent UI elements and cleaner navigation aesthetics appearing throughout the interface. Samsung has also worked on improving stability and reliability for existing AI-powered features, though mid-range models don’t get those.

Nonetheless, with the Galaxy A36 now joining the One UI 8.5 rollout, more Galaxy A series devices are expected to follow soon as Samsung continues expanding availability globally. Users can manually check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
