Breaking! Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 Pick Up One UI 8.5 Stable Update

Just when you thought things might slow down, Samsung flips the script. The company is juggling its next big beta while still keeping current devices well-fed. Now, the One UI 8.5 stable update is making its way to Samsung’s 2023 foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are now receiving One UI 8.5 update

Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 8.5 stable update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The update is currently live in the company’s home market, South Korea. As usual, the rollout is happening in stages, so users in other regions shouldn’t have to wait too long before it shows up on their devices.

The build versions for the One UI 8.5 stable update for the Fold 5 is GZDT and the Flip 5 is GZDU. If you’re using either device in Korea, you can check for the update right away. Just head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once it’s ready, tap Install now, and you’re good to go.

Samsung has already updated its newer foldables to One UI 8.5. The company started the rollout with last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 and gradually covered all “Z” models launched in 2025 and 2024. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 are also eligible for One UI 8.5. If Samsung maintains its current pace, these models should get the update before the end of this month.

The Korean firm will also roll out One UI 8.5 to several other Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the coming weeks. It will simultaneously run beta programs for One UI 9, which introduces Android 17. One UI 9 Beta is already available for the Galaxy S26 lineup in select regions, with an expansion expected later this month. Other devices may join in a few weeks.
