Samsung Care+ will now offer free screen repairs to Galaxy users. The company has announced a “Zero Dollar Screen Repairs” program under the Care+ subscription. It covers both the front screen and the back glass. The new program goes live in mid-January.
Samsung Care+ eliminates the $29 service fee for screen repairs
Samsung Care+ is an insurance package for Galaxy smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other products. It extends protection beyond Samsung’s standard warranty, covering a wide range of damage. Some Care+ plans even cover theft or loss. Users who have subscribed to this pricier plan can now get free screen repairs.
In an email to customers, Samsung announced that users will no longer have to pay the $29 service fee for screen or back glass replacements. This added benefit makes the Samsung Care+ Theft and Loss plan, which costs up to $18 a month, much more worthwhile. Unfortunately, regular Samsung Care+ users will still need to pay the $29 or more service charge for screen replacements.
Moreover, this benefit does not extend to the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip series foldables, likely due to their expensive displays. Samsung also has not specified how many times users can replace their screens under this package. For lost or stolen devices, the policy allows a maximum of three claims within 12 months.
This program will be available to Samsung Care+ Theft and Loss subscribers starting January 15, 2025. Users can avail of it with Mail-In Repair and Walk-In Repair options, as well as screen repairs at their location of choice.
This follows the addition of unlimited battery replacements for Care+ users earlier this year. However, that came with a price hike. This time, Samsung is dropping the $29 service fee for screen replacements without raising the monthly subscription price for the Theft and Loss plan.
