Google Messages may soon bring a feature that many users have been asking for over the years. The app is working on a new option that lets you forward multiple text messages or images at the same time. This development is currently hidden within the latest beta version of the app.
Google Messages will soon save you tons of taps when forwarding multiple text messages or images
Google Messages continues to improve the messaging experience with a bunch of quality-of-life features. However, the app has long lacked the ability to forward multiple messages at once, despite user requests. As of now, you can forward text or images one at a time. This makes the process time-consuming if you share several items from a chat.
Thankfully, that could soon change. Google is working on a multi-forward feature that lets you select and forward multiple text messages or images in a single action. Folks over at Android Authority have discovered the feature in the latest beta version of Google Messages.
Now, when you select multiple messages within a conversation, you can access a Forward option by tapping the three-dot menu. Once you tap the option, the contact picker shows up, allowing you to choose the recipient. This removes the need to forward each message or image separately.
Google is also testing a revamped forwarding interface to support the new capability. The app gets a preview section that shows the selected messages. As a result, you can review the content and confirm that everything is included.
As of now, it’s unclear when Google plans to launch the feature publicly. The outlet says the feature is still very much a work in progress. Hopefully, it does not take long to hit the stable channel.
Meanwhile, Google Messages may soon introduce a new system for image verification. The idea is to help users determine whether images in chats are AI-generated.
