Samsung has announced the official rollout of One UI 8.5 for Galaxy devices in Japan. The company also shared a full roadmap outlining when it will push the update in phases to all eligible devices. It plans to complete the rollout in the country as early as next month.

One UI 8.5 update now lands in Japan

One UI 8.5 brings a fresh Galaxy experience with visual tweaks and new features. It handles day-to-day tasks efficiently and gives smart suggestions depending on user preferences and usage patterns. Thanks to deeper AI integration, you get improved productivity. On select devices, Quick Share now supports AirDrop. As a result, you can share files between Galaxy and Apple devices easily.

Earlier this month, Samsung began its stable One UI 8.5 rollout journey. The Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z7 foldables were the first to pick up the update in select regions. The company then expanded the rollout in several regions, while gradually making it available for mid-range and budget Galaxy models. Now, Japan joins the list of markets getting the update.

However, the Korean firm won’t push the update to all devices simultaneously. It is rolling it out in phases, starting with newer flagship models. The Galaxy S25 series is now picking up the update on some carriers. You can see the complete roadmap below.
