For years, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips have played a key role in powering Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup. This trend will likely continue with the next-generation Galaxy S27 series, expected to debut in the first quarter of 2027. The American semiconductor firm recently hinted that Snapdragon will be the heart of the upcoming Galaxy flagship devices.

Snapdragon 2nm chips could power the Galaxy S27 series

In a post on X, Qualcomm highlighted its long-standing partnership with Samsung. “Year after year—more power, more performance, more possibility. And more to come with @Samsungmobile,” the post reads. The company also shared a video showing the role of Snapdragon processors in the evolution of the Galaxy S lineup, including the newly launched Galaxy S26 series.

The video ended with a simple message: “And there’s so much more to come.” This strongly hints that the Galaxy S27 series could use the Snapdragon flagship chip. This year, Qualcomm could introduce two new mobile flagship processors to power future high-end smartphones. The chips reportedly include the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.

TSMC may make them using its cutting-edge 2nm process, which could deliver solid performance and improved power efficiency. The new processors could adopt a 2+3+3 CPU setup based on Qualcomm’s custom Oryon cores. As for the GPU, the vanilla model could feature an Adreno 845, while the Pro model may sport an Adreno 850. Both chips may support UFS 5.0 storage.

As of now, it’s unclear how Samsung will use both the 2nm chips in the Galaxy S27 series. The company could go with a single chipset or use both, depending on the model. However, the Galaxy S27 Ultra should feature the Pro chip, though only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Samsung is said to introduce a Pro model to the S27 lineup. It won’t be surprising to see that model use the higher-end chip. That said, the Korean firm may equip some S27 models with its upcoming in-house Exynos 2700 chip, depending on the region.
