Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch update is now available for the Galaxy Watch 4 series here in the US. As of today, the update is live for the Classic model, with the standard Watch 4 expected to follow shortly. This could be the final major OS release for these watches.

Galaxy Watch 4 Classic gets One UI 8 Watch in the US

One UI 8 Watch is now rolling out to Bluetooth variants of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in the United States. The new firmware build number is JYK4, with the OTA package weighing in at around 1.7GB. It includes the October 2025 security patch, though the update is primarily about new features and enhancements.

Based on Wear OS 6, One UI 8 Watch brings a mix of new features, UI refinements, and wellness tools. One of the headline additions is the Now Bar, which surfaces relevant information and actions more intelligently. Samsung has also expanded gesture controls, adding Double Pinch gestures for quicker interactions.

On the health and wellness side, the update introduces Bedtime Guidance and enhanced Mindfulness features, reinforcing Samsung’s growing focus on sleep and mental well-being. The app drawer has also been refreshed, with users able to choose between a new grid layout or a traditional list view.

Other notable improvements include refreshed battery charging animations, a cleaner and more readable notification view, and an easier way to respond directly to notifications. Users can now build custom Tiles by combining multiple widgets into a single view, offering more flexibility and personalization.

Samsung should soon release this update for LTE variants of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in the US. Users with a regular Watch 4 can also expect to receive One UI 8 Watch in the coming days. As mentioned earlier, this may be the final major feature update for Samsung’s 2021 wearables. Users can check for updates from the Galaxy Wearable app on their connected smartphone.
