One UI 7.0’s Now Bar May Expand to More Galaxy Phones, Including Mid-Rangers

by | Feb 20, 2025 | News, One UI

Ever since the One UI 7.0 beta first dropped in December, we’ve been loving the new Now Bar. The Now Bar is basically an interactive element on the lock screen that shows real-time updates. It’s basically Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Live Activities.

Now Bar and Now Brief sound similar, but they are different and not interchangeable terms. The Now Brief gives you a quick rundown of the day’s key info. Samsung has already hinted that older phones might not support the Now Bar due to hardware limitations. This led to speculation that mid-range and budget models might miss out, too.

Galaxy F06 shows One UI 7.0’s Now Bar could be coming to more and more Galaxy phones

Unlike what was initially speculated, One UI 7.0’s Now Bar is showing some promising signs that it’ll be rolling out to more devices. Samsung’s more affordable Galaxy F06, launched in India for under $110, already supports the Now Bar with One UI 7.0. If that wasn’t enough, leaked marketing materials for the upcoming Galaxy A06 also hint at the Now Bar, showing up in one of the illustrations.

If these leaks are anything to go by (and they definitely are), it looks like all phones eligible for the One UI 7.0 update will get the Now Bar. Samsung will push the stable One UI 7.0 update to more Galaxy devices. Of course, these include the S series, Z series, A series, F series, and M series. There’s a good chance all these phones will support the Now Bar.

A moderator from the Samsung India Beta team says we should expect the One UI 7.0 stable update “very soon.” Another community moderator refuted earlier claims of a fifth and sixth round of the One UI 7.0 beta.
