Oppo’s Find N5 is finally official, measuring a crazy 4.21mm thick when open and 8.5mm when closed. It’s the same foldable that could’ve been the OnePlus Open 2, but that’s not happening — at least not this year.

While Oppo Find N5 is set for a global launch, it won’t be available in the US (via Android Authority). Still, that doesn’t mean we’re expecting any less from the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7. In fact, Galaxy Z Fold 7 might want to take a page or two from Oppo’s playbook and come out as a serious contender against the Find N5.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 hasn’t launched yet, but its rival Oppo Find N5 is off the curtains

The Oppo Find N5 features an 8.12-inch main display and a 6.62-inch cover display, both of which are OLED. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to sport an 8-inch main and a 6.5-inch cover display. This puts both in the same league. Interestingly, the Find N5 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite, and this chipset might also power the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

On the camera front, the Find N5 packs a 50MP main sensor, paired with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens and an 8MP ultrawide camera. There’s also an 8MP front shooter. Under the hood, it gets a 5,600mAh battery, supporting 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Pretty impressive charging speeds, to be honest.

It wouldn’t be fair to call either of these phones a winner or a loser just yet, since the Galaxy Z Fold 7 hasn’t been released. But when it does, it’ll be interesting to see how they compare. For now, one thing’s certain: you can’t buy the Oppo Find N5 in the US. As for the price, it comes in at SGD 2,499 (roughly USD 1,875) for the 16GB/512GB variant.
