There’s good news for Good Lock users. Samsung is rolling up its sleeves to address some pesky issues with the Edge Lighting+ feature in the upcoming One UI 7.0 update. Users have reported running into problems when trying to combine it with other features, such as Prism Lighting and the double-tap notification pop-up. When Edge Lighting+ is enabled, these other features don’t seem to work. Thankfully, Samsung is working on a fix.
Samsung will fix the Edge Lighting+ issue with the One UI 7.0 update
For those who aren’t aware, Edge Lighting+ in Good Lock adds vibrant lighting effects along the edges of the screen to notify users of incoming messages or alerts. However, as mentioned, it isn’t functioning properly when combined with other features.
A Samsung community moderator has confirmed that these issues will be addressed in the One UI 7.0 update. The update will allow users to enable Edge Lighting+ alongside Prism Lighting without any interference. Additionally, users will be able to use the double-tap notification pop-up while Edge Lighting+ is active. You’d know Samsung recently announced plans to remove third-party Edge Panels from the Galaxy Store starting with One UI 7.0.
When is the One UI 7.0 update coming?
If leaks and rumors are anything to go by, the One UI 7.0 beta could roll out in the coming weeks, likely by mid-December. It will first be available for the Galaxy S24 series, followed by the S23, and so on. Regular users, however, may have to wait a bit longer. We’re still awaiting official confirmation from Samsung regarding the stable release date for One UI 7.0.
In the meantime, you can take a look at everything that’s likely to make it into One UI 7.0. We’re getting closer to the final release, though. Samsung may have accidentally leaked the One UI 7.0 icon and other changes on its official Spanish website today.
