Samsung has begun rolling out the July 2026 security update for its Galaxy Watch 6 series. This comes after the company first released it for the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 7 lineups. The update appears to be rolling out globally, though it may not reach all users at the same time.

Galaxy Watch 6 series picks up July 2026 security update

Samsung’s July 2026 security update is now available for Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. The firmware package is around 150 MB, and the build numbers for all models end with CZF5. As usual, the update brings key security improvements to protect the smartwatches from newly discovered vulnerabilities.

This month’s Security Maintenance Release (SMR) includes 57 vulnerabilities across the core Android OS and Samsung’s One UI software. These fixes improved device security, lowering the risk of possible threats. It is worth mentioning that security updates often bundle bug fixes and other improvements, though the changelog does not specify.

It’s quite easy to install a security update on the Galaxy smartwatch. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your paired phone. Now follow this path: Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install. If the update for Galaxy Watch 6 models hasn’t reached your device, you may need to wait a few days. The company usually pushes it in phases across different regions.

Surprisingly, Samsung has yet to push the July 2026 security update to Galaxy phones. This month, the company has prioritized its smartwatches over smartphones. However, the flagship phones, particularly the Galaxy S26 series, should be the next devices to get the update. As usual, the Korean firm will continue rolling out the July 2026 security patch to all eligible Galaxy devices throughout the month.

Meanwhile, Samsung is reportedly gearing up to debut One UI 9 Watch later this month alongside the upcoming Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2.
