Samsung has long faced criticism for its laggy system animations, but it seems the company is putting those days behind with One UI 7. Noted leaker Ice Universe recently shared a video showcasing super smooth and ultra-responsive animations on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Take a look at the video for yourself and decide if One UI 7 is the snappiest mobile UI out there.

One UI 7 finally brings munch needed animation upgrade

In the said video, which we have embedded below, Ice Universe opens and closes dozens of apps on the Galaxy S25 Ultra in quick succession. This is a test the tipster often runs to determine the responsiveness and fluidity of the software. In the past, One UI would start lagging after a few apps were launched. However, One UI 7 shows lightning-fast app launches with no stuttering whatsoever.

This improvement could finally position One UI as one of the most responsive user interfaces available, putting it on par with or even ahead of competitors like Apple’s iOS. Samsung may have achieved this by advanced system optimization, leveraging the raw power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. The new Qualcomm processor is a powerhouse.

Of course, no one uses their phones like the way this video shows. However, as mentioned above, it is a way to gauge the system’s fluidity. If animations are smooth and responsive, you can expect a more reliable experience during normal usage. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will almost certainly deliver the best experience across the entire Galaxy family, but you can expect notable improvements on other models as well.

Samsung should start rolling out the stable One UI 7 update to the Galaxy S24 and older models in the first half of February. The company is also working on One UI 7.1, a relatively small update with feature enhancements, particularly focusing on AI upgrades. It may arrive in the second quarter.
