Google Wallet makes it easier to keep an eye on your deliveries. The digital wallet platform now lets you view and track your online orders by pulling key information from Gmail. This feature is currently available in the United States.
Google brings order tracking capability to its digital wallet
With Gmail, you can already track package deliveries right from your inbox. Google has now brought that capability to Wallet, so you can view details for your online orders, including receipts, tracking numbers, and shipping status. You will see orders that are arriving soon on the app’s home screen.
To view your online orders, open the Google Wallet app and tap View more. If the orders are arriving today or are in transit, they will show up at the top of the screen. Now tap View more transactions and then verify your identity if prompted. Finally, tap Orders to filter your purchases and select the order you want to view.
To track a package, open the Google Wallet app and go to your order details. Tap the order you want to track and verify your identity if required. Now tap the Track Package option to open the shipping carrier’s website. This allows you to view detailed delivery updates. If your order comprises multiple shipments, Google Wallet may show separate tracking details for each package.
The best thing is that the feature is not limited to the mobile app. You can also view your online orders through the Google Wallet website. Simply open the website and then go to the Transactions section. From there, you can view and track the package.
Google says the feature automatically pulls order information from your Gmail. So you must first turn on the necessary Gmail settings. However, for now, only Google Wallet users in the United States can access the package tracking feature. There is no word on whether the company plans to bring it to other regions.
