Galaxy Z Wide Fold Leak Reveals 4:3 Display, Ultra-thin Design

A few weeks ago, we got our first look at Samsung’s upcoming wide foldable, supposedly called the Galaxy Z Wide Fold. The leaked renders gave us a fair idea of its shape, size, and overall design. Another leaker has now backed those dimensions and confirmed the aspect ratios for both displays.

Galaxy Z Wide Fold’s dimensions confirmed in new leak

According to Ice Universe, the upcoming device measures 123.9 mm in height and 161.4 mm in width when unfolded, with an impressively slim thickness of just 4.3 mm. Fold it shut, and it comes in at 9.8 mm thick and 82.2 mm wide. These figures closely match the earlier leak.

The reported dimensions make the Galaxy Z Wide Fold slimmer and narrower than Huawei’s newly launched Pura X Max, the first wide foldable in the market. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, is substantially taller at 158.4 tall but notably narrower too, measuring at just 143.2 wide.

This also means a much wider display aspect ratio of 4:3, similar to tablets. The cover screen reportedly has an aspect ratio of 4.7:3, which is still pretty wide and nowhere near a typical smartphone display. The leaker didn’t specify the screen sizes, but earlier leaks point to a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch cover screen. The Huawei Pura X Max also has 7.7-inch and 5.4-inch screens, respectively.

The latest leak doesn’t reveal much else about the Galaxy Z Wide Fold, but it does signal an imminent launch. And with it comes what could be the next meaningful step in the evolution of smartphones. Huawei may have made the first move in this direction, but the category is unlikely to truly take off until Samsung steps in. If reports are accurate, Samsung could unveil the device on July 22, 2026, at an event in London.
