Galaxy Z Fold 8 May Not Get These Galaxy S26 Ultra Features

Samsung’s upcoming foldables are inching closer to launch. As such, more details are emerging. The devices may also see a price hike, though that remains to be seen. A recent rumor suggests the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may miss out on some of the best Galaxy S26 Ultra features.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 may ditch S Pen and key Galaxy S26 Ultra features
Serial tipster Ice Universe on X suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will ship without S Pen support. Moreover, it may also lack the privacy display feature that, for now, remain exclusive to the top-of-the-line Galaxy S26 Ultra. There also don’t seem to be any improvements to the crease.
Some users may want the S Pen to return with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, but it doesn’t look like that’s happening this time either. As we know Samsung, it’s chasing a slimmer design instead. It also ditched the digitizer layer on the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and later continued that approach with the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
As for the privacy screen, no credible supply chain reports or rumors have suggested it so far. Still, it would have made sense to include one, especially since it could complement the Fold 8’s large display. Using a fully opened foldable in public can feel awkward, so a privacy screen would have helped. Maybe next time.
There are three foldables expected this summer. So far, they’re rumored to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. The middle one, hopefully, won’t turn into an awkward middle child and looks promising based on current leaks.
If you’re planning to get one of these upcoming foldables in the US, there’s some good news. Sign-ups for the mystery box program are now open, and the company will send a bunch of gifts with every purchase. More details should be shared closer to launch.
