Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series Could be the First to Showcase One UI 9’s Biggest AI Features

Samsung may be preparing to expand the Galaxy AI suite with its upcoming foldables. The latest industry chatter suggests the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra will debut new AI features not available on any current Galaxy device, including the S26 Ultra. While the exact functionality remains under wraps, this adds to growing evidence that Samsung sees AI experiences as key to future growth in the mobile space.

When Samsung launched the One UI 9 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series, the company repeatedly highlighted upcoming AI improvements. While it stopped short of detailing what those features would actually be, the firm teased advanced AI tools for its next-gen foldables, which will run One UI 9 out of the box.

Now, a noted industry insider claims that Samsung has prepared fresh AI features for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra. Once again, we do not have specifics, but the company previously hinted at AI tools that help in everyday smartphone use. These will be in addition to the new AI capabilities enabled by Android 17, which forms the base for Samsung’s One UI 9.

The Korean firm may also bring new AI-powered multitasking and productivity features tailored to the large screens on foldables. This year, Samsung is launching a wider Fold 8 with a tablet-like 4:3 main display, alongside the traditional Fold 8 Ultra. It could offer AI tools that let users get the best out of their big screens.
