Your Galaxy Watch may soon let you disable activity alerts that nudge you to get up and take a few steps. Samsung is currently testing the new feature. Some users received it with the latest One UI 6 Watch beta update. The stable release should follow in the coming weeks.
You can soon disable those pesky activity alerts on your Galaxy Watch
Smartwatches and fitness trackers are designed to help improve your everyday health. These wearables offer a wide range of health features. They send regular alerts to keep you active. While these daily activity alerts aim to promote a healthier lifestyle, they can occasionally become more of an annoyance than a helpful nudge. Samsung knows this and plans to give Galaxy Watch users control over these alerts.
A Galaxy Watch 6 user received a toggle to disable daily activity alerts after updating to the latest One UI 6 Watch beta build. It is available under health settings on their watch. When turned off, the watch doesn’t send daily reminders to do some activities. This toggle gives users more flexibility. If the alerts are getting annoying, you can disable them. You can enable daily alerts anytime if they help you become more active.
The new One UI 6 Watch beta update is widely available for the Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, and Watch 4 users. Samsung may soon start a public rollout of the big update based on Wear OS 5. Interestingly, while the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra run One UI 6 Watch out of the box, this toggle is missing on both new models. Samsung likely plans to add it through a separate update, possibly coinciding with other models.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is a powerful new watch from Samsung. At $649.99, it’s a pricey watch but has a lot going for it, almost enough to justify the price tag. It offers an excellent battery life, a robust build with a quick action button, a smooth and fluid software experience, and a lot more.
