It’s no secret Samsung’s working on its next Fan Edition smartphone. In recent days, it’s been spotted on benchmark platforms and the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). As we get closer, the Galaxy S26 FE has now surfaced on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as well.
Galaxy S26 FE’s BIS listing confirms progress toward launch
The Galaxy S26 FE has appeared on India’s BIS with the model number SM-S741B/DS. The “B” moniker confirms it’s an international variant, while “DS” indicates dual-SIM support. Nothing surprising or unusual here.

As you might already know, certification listings like these don’t reveal much beyond basic details. Still, they’re a reliable indicator that a launch is getting closer, and in this case, the Galaxy S26 FE has cleared a key regulatory hurdle in India.
A report earlier this month also shed some light on the device, suggesting Samsung could introduce a redesigned camera module, hinting at a subtle refresh rather than a major overhaul. You can take a look at the picture below:

Additionally, benchmarks so far suggest the Galaxy S26 FE will feature the Exynos 2500 paired with 8GB of RAM. It will run Android 17-based One UI 9 at launch and should offer seven years of software updates, taking it up to Android 24 (One UI 16). This is in line with Samsung’s current update policy for its premium devices.
We expect the Galaxy S26 FE to launch sometime this fall, likely around August or September. If past launches are any indication, Samsung will stick to this window for its next FE release. Before that, the company is gearing up for its next major event on July 22 in London. It will debut Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8 as well as Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2.
