If rumors are anything to go by, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 later this month. Both smartwatches are expected to ship with the One UI 9 Watch update out of the box. It also looks like Samsung has begun testing the upcoming firmware on its current Galaxy Watch lineup.
Samsung begins testing One UI 9 Watch for Galaxy Watch 8
As spotted by Tarun Vats, Samsung has started internally testing One UI 9 Watch for the Galaxy Watch 8. The build in question carries the version number L320XXU2BZG2, which, if anything, suggests the next major update is one step closer to launch.
Samsung could also kick off the One UI 9 Watch beta for early testers soon, with the Galaxy Watch 8 almost certain to be among the first supported devices. That said, there’s been no official confirmation yet, only hints that the beta program could begin sooner rather than later.
That means the fastest way to experience One UI 9 Watch will be to pick up the upcoming Galaxy Watch 9 or Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. A recent leak suggested reservations for both smartwatches, alongside Samsung’s new foldables, will open soon.
