Samsung is preparing to expand its flagship tablet lineup with the Galaxy Tab S12 series sometime this fall. Ahead of its expected debut, the Galaxy Tab S12+ has appeared in another key regulatory database in US, marking another step toward its official launch.

Galaxy Tab S12+ bags FCC certification, and the launch countdown begins

Folks over at 91mobiles have spotted the Galaxy Tab S12+ on the FCC database. The certification identifies the tablet with model number SM-X848U, which is the US variant. While the filing doesn’t reveal complete hardware specifications, it confirms that is moving forward with its launch.

The FCC documents reveal support for Wi-Fi 6E, including the 6GHz band. It also confirms Bluetooth, NFC, and 45W wired fast charging. The listing references model number SM-X840, which is expected to be the Wi-Fi-only variant. The Galaxy Tab S12+ also marks the return of Samsung’s Plus tablet lineup after the company skipped the variant in the Galaxy Tab S11 series. Previous certifications have already hinted that the launch is approaching. The Galaxy Tab S12+ appeared on SafetyKorea, revealing a live image, and later cleared BIS.

According to recent leaks, the Galaxy Tab S12+ could feature a 12.4-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. A recent Geekbench listing also suggests that the tablet could be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. The tablet could also pack a battery between 10,500mAh and 10,600mAh, feature a 12MP front-facing camera capable of recording 4K quality video, and ship with Android 17-based One UI 9.0 out-of-the-box. If Samsung follows its current software update policy, Galaxy Tab S12 series could receive seven generations of Android OS upgrades along with seven years of security updates.
