After a quiet introduction last week, Samsung has now launched the Galaxy Tab A11 in India. The new budget Android tablet succeeds the Tab A9 (2023), bringing a host of key upgrades, including a high-refresh-rate display. The device should gradually hit more markets in the coming days.

Samsung launches Galaxy Tab A11 with several notable upgrades

The Galaxy Tab A11 sticks to an 8.7-inch HD+ (1,340 x 800) LCD screen, but upgrades to a 90Hz refresh rate, delivering smoother scrolling, more fluid animations, and an overall snappier user experience. The device is powered by the same 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 processor found in the Tab A9. It comes in 4GB RAM + 64GB and 8GB RAM + 128GB configurations. Both models support microSD expansion up to 2TB.

Coming to the cameras, Samsung has upgraded the front lens from the Tab A9’s basic 2MP sensor to a 5MP unit, making video calls sharper and more reliable. On the back, the tablet sports an 8MP autofocus camera, with both cameras capable of Full HD 30fps video recording. Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support round out the media experience. A 5,100mAh battery powers the tablet, supporting 15W fast charging.

The tablet ships with Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box, even though One UI 8 is already rolling out to existing devices. Impressively, Samsung has promised seven major Android OS upgrades (up to Android 22) along with seven years of security updates for the Galaxy Tab A11. That’s the same long-term software support as its flagship devices, including the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.

The Tab A11 comes in both Wi-Fi-only and 4G LTE variants, but there’s no 5G option. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type-C (2.0), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. GNSS (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BDS, QZSS) is available only on the LTE models. The device measures 211 x 124.7 x 8mm and weighs 335g (337g for LTE models), keeping it compact and lightweight.

Samsung has priced the Galaxy Tab A11 at ₹12,999 (~$147) for the 4GB+64GB Wi-Fi model in India. The top-end LTE model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs ₹20,999 (~$237). It’s unclear if the company plans to launch the device in the US.
