These Galaxy Devices May Get Galaxy S26’s Photo Assist and Log Video Upgrades

Samsung recently confirmed that many of the new Galaxy AI features introduced with the Galaxy S26 series would make it to compatible older devices. The same extends to camera innovations, with features like Ocean Mode already rolling out to earlier models. Now, new details reveal which Galaxy phones and tablets could receive the Galaxy S26’s upgraded Photo Assist and Log Video tools with One UI 8.5.
Samsung’s Photo Assist and Log Video upgrades could reach many Galaxy devices
According to tipster Alfaturk on X, Samsung is preparing to expand these features to a bunch of Galaxy devices as part of the upcoming One UI 8.5 update. While nothing is officially confirmed yet, the reported list suggests the Photo Assist and Log Video upgrades are headed to most flagship models launched in the last couple of years, including foldables and tablets.
If the leak holds true, Samsung may bring Galaxy S26’s Photo Assist features to:
- Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, and S25 FE
- Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, and S24 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold 6, Fold SE, and Z Flip 6
- Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE
- Galaxy Z TriFold
- Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S11 series
Powered by Galaxy AI, Photo Assist has become Samsung’s core photo editing suite. With the Galaxy S26 lineup, it received notable improvements, including the ability to refine edits across multiple versions and a new text-based input system for more precise results.
Another standout upgrade from the Galaxy S26 series is the improved Log Video feature. Traditionally, shooting in log format requires post-processing to add color and contrast. Samsung is simplifying this workflow by allowing users to preview and apply colors in real time while recording. The addition could be particularly useful for content creators who want faster turnaround times without relying heavily on external editing tools. This feature is reportedly planned for:
- Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge (FE model misses out)
- Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra (FE model misses out)
- Galaxy Z Fold 6, Fold SE, and Z Flip 6
- Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE
- Galaxy Z TriFold
These features should roll out alongside the stable One UI 8.5 update. Reports suggest the update will arrive on the Galaxy S25 series at the end of April, followed by other models in May. Stay tuned for more.
