Samsung may not upgrade the Galaxy S25 Ultra to the M14 OLED panel, but it also won’t stick with the M13 panel used in the S24 Ultra. Instead, the upcoming flagship features an enhanced M13+ OLED display, offering improved power efficiency, vibrancy, and clarity. It’s unclear whether the other two models in the series will also adopt this updated display technology.

Galaxy S25 Ultra to feature M13+ OLED display with key improvements

While Samsung’s display division has already supplied M14 OLED panels to several customers, including Apple’s iPhone 16 series and Google’s Pixel 9 series, its smartphone division has opted not to use the newer OLED materials for Galaxy S25 displays. Reports suggest it’s a strategic decision to save costs as the improvements are barely noticeable to the average user.

However, the upcoming flagships may still bring display enhancements, thanks to an improved M13 panel. Multiple reports have confirmed that Samsung has addressed grainy display issues on the Galaxy S25 series. Additionally, it improved the power efficiency and color accuracy or vibrancy for richer visuals. Another source claims similar upgrades, suggesting they are already set in stone.

Most reports have specifically mentioned these improvements for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, Samsung may offer the same display experience across the lineup. The new flagships should also feature its groundbreaking anti-reflective coating that substantially reduces screen glare for clear visuals outdoors. It’s quite baffling that the company doesn’t talk enough about this.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 series on January 22, 2025. The entire lineup should be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with Android 15-based One UI 7.1 software, offering a whole new AI experience.
