Samsung may have finalized the pricing structure for the Galaxy S25 Edge, its upcoming slim flagship. The Korean media suggests the phone will cost more than the Galaxy S25+, at least in the domestic market. It’s unclear if the company plans a global launch for the device or if it will see a limited initial release.
Galaxy S25 Edge could be ultra-slim and ultra-expensive
Rumors suggest Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge on April 16. While the company has already showcased the phone a couple of times — at the January Unpacked and MWC 2025 — it hasn’t revealed much information. There have been some talks about it potentially costing the same as the S25+, and a new report corroborates that.
According to an Fnnews report, Samsung will release the Galaxy S25 Edge in two storage variants in South Korea. Buyers can pick between 256GB and 512GB options (should be UFS 4.0), both likely with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The company will price the former at KRW 1,500,000 (approx. $1,032) and the latter at KRW 1,630,000 ($1,122).
To recall, at launch, the Galaxy S25’s 256GB option carried a price tag of KRW 1,155,000, while its 256GB version was priced at KRW 1,298,000. The same storage options for the S25+ were priced at KRW 1,353,000 and KRW 1,496,000. Finally, the S25 Ultra carried price tags of KRW 1,698,400 and KRW 1,841,400. All phones feature 12GB of RAM.
If the reported numbers are accurate, the Galaxy S25 Edge is shaping up to be an expensive phone. The device is likely to lack a telephoto zoom camera, which makes the price tag a bit too steep. Its thin profile (might be just 5.84mm thick) also means a smaller battery, possibly around 4,000mAh.
This is probably why Samsung only plans to produce 40,000 Galaxy S25 Edge units at first. The company may release the phone in South Korea next month, and depending on market demand, it could expand production and launch the device in more markets. While we have seen Samsung work on a US version, only time will tell whether the Galaxy S25 Edge will arrive stateside.
