Despite its incredibly thin profile, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge may not compromise on durability. The company did previously say that durability remains a priority for the upcoming slim flagship. Now, a reputed industry insider claims the phone has a “solid” build quality and “can’t be bent easily.”

Galaxy S25 Edge may deliver unmatched durability in a slim frame

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be just 5.84mm thick, making it the slimmest Samsung smartphone yet. Considering the slim nature, concerns about its durability, particularly bend resistance, were obvious. However, noted industry insider Max Jambor recently dropped some encouraging information.

“S25 Edge is solid and can’t be bent easily,” Jambor posted on X. “It will survive JerryRigs bend test.” If you didn’t know, JerryRigs [full: JerryRigsEverything]  is a popular YouTube channel run by Zack Nelson, known for its brutal smartphone durability tests. Zack subjects devices to scratch tests, burn tests, and bend tests to assess their overall toughness, often exposing weaknesses that manufacturers try to hide.

Jambor’s reference to Zack’s infamous bend test suggests the Galaxy S25 Edge is incredibly strong. We have seen some much larger phones fail this test in the past, with many snapping into half. Samsung is rumored to use premium materials on its slim flagship, so that must have helped. We are looking at a titanium frame and ceramic rear panel, which also help reduce the weight while adding strength.

Speaking of the weight, the Galaxy S25 Edge may weigh around 162 grams, which is pretty lightweight for a phone featuring a 6.7-inch display. While it’s slim, Samsung is making the Edge fairly big to ensure a sizable battery and quality cameras. It is rumored to feature a 200MP primary lens, though there may be no zoom camera. While unconfirmed, the Galaxy S25 Edge may go official on April 16.
