Samsung is on a mission to make AI integral to our mobile experiences. It kicked off the journey with the introduction of Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S24 series last year. The company doubled down on its efforts this year, joining hands with Google to offer smarter and more intuitive AI experiences on the Galaxy S25 series. Below, we explore the standout AI features of the new flagships.
Galaxy S25 series: New AI features
The 2025 flagship lineup brings a handful of new AI tools and improves some existing ones. Samsung and Google worked together to integrate Gemini into several first-party apps, offering unprecedented AI-driven experiences. We will discuss it all below.
-
Audio Eraser
The Audio Eraser feature takes video editing to the next level by allowing you to remove unwanted sounds. It can identify up to six types of audio or noise in your videos and let you remove or lower its intensity. Whether it’s people talking, background music, or ambient noise like wind, you can adjust volumes to enhance what matters most. This feature is seamlessly integrated into the phone’s built-in video editor, offering a simple way to reduce distractions or amplify voices.
-
On-device Generative Edit
Generative Edit, the AI-powered photo editing feature that debuted on the Galaxy S24 series, works on-device on the Galaxy S25. The powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and other enhancements from Samsung mean the tool no longer requires cloud processing to remove, resize, or replace objects in photos. You can use the tool even when you are offline, making it faster, more secure, and reliable.
-
Now Brief
Now Brief is your personalized information hub on the Galaxy S25 lineup. This feature adapts to your daily routine by displaying context-aware information throughout the day. In the morning, you get your Sleep Score, Energy Score, and the weather forecast handy at the bottom of your lock screen. As you commute to your work, traffic updates, meeting reminders, and playlist suggestions will appear within the same space. Now Brief then recaps your step count and memories captured during the day in the evening

Gemini on the power button
Alongside deeper integration into its apps, Samsung now lets you access Gemini directly through the power button, aka the side button. You can long press the power button on your Galaxy S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra to summon Google’s AI assistant without using voice commands like “Okay, Google.” On older phones, the power button can be used to either wake up Bixby or pull up the power menu. The new flagships give you more choices.
Galaxy S25 series: Improvements for existing AI features
As said earlier, the Galaxy S25 lineup also brings improvements to some existing AI features. Circle to Search, Writing Assist, and Drawing Assist (Sketch to Image) get notable upgrades, with more planned for the future.
-
Circle to Search
The Galaxy S25 introduces an upgraded version of Circle to Search, now capable of recognizing email addresses, phone numbers, and webpage URLs on the screen. It then provides context-based actional suggestions, simplifying how you use your phone. You can execute various functions without switching apps. It’s a quick and intuitive way to interact with visual content.
-
Writing Assist
Writing Assist helps you summarize articles, adjust the tone of your messages or emails, check and correct grammar, organize articles into bullet points or a table, compose articles based on text prompts, translate text, and help enhance your writing with suggestions. Samsung improved the feature to let you use summarizing and formatting tools on any app where you can select text, without needing to manually switch apps.
-
Drawing Assist
Drawing Assist, aka Sketch to Image, made headlines when it debuted on the Galaxy S24 series. It lets users quickly turn rough sketches into beautiful works of art. Samsung now lets you provide text input or an image for reference, further refining the AI-generated image to give you the desired result. It helps enhance your creative inspiration. Drawing Assist also adds two new art styles, taking the total to six.
One UI 7.1 might bring more AI features to the Galaxy S25 series
Samsung may not be done with AI enhancements for the Galaxy S25 series. Rumors suggest it is working on more AI tools and plans to introduce them with the One UI 7.1 update in the second quarter. Some of the new features, including those available out of the box, should roll out to the Galaxy S24, S23, and other older models. Some enhancements may remain exclusive to the S25 series though, including on-device Generative Edit.
