Samsung finally pulled back the curtain on One UI 7.0 during Galaxy Unpacked, where it also unveiled the Galaxy S25 series. The Android 15-based One UI 7.0 has been in beta for over two months now, but only for the Galaxy S24 series. The stable version will roll out soon for the Galaxy S24 lineup, including the S24 FE. When that happens, everyone (including beta testers) will receive the update simultaneously. But before the official release, there’s actually a legit way to try out One UI 7.0 on the Galaxy S24 FE.
Galaxy S24 FE can run One UI 7.0 via the Remote Test Lab
Unlike stable releases, Samsung’s Remote Test Lab (RTL) is for developers to test apps virtually and remotely on Galaxy devices. But as spotted by Reddit user u/Proshis_Saha_Swopna, Galaxy S24 FE users can actually run One UI 7.0 through RTL. And you don’t need to be a developer to try it out. That said, this is just a virtual test and not a way to install the upcoming update on your Galaxy S24 FE. Still, it’s a fun way to preview what’s coming to your phone, right?
The Reddit post includes two screenshots of the Galaxy S24 FE running One UI 7.0. The build number shown is AP3A.240905.015.A2.S721BXXU3BYA2, and it’s running the January 2025 security patch. However, some users have pointed out that features like Audio Eraser and Now Brief are missing from this build, and battery health isn’t showing either.
That aside, Samsung is tipped to start rolling out the One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series sometime in February. The company has taken its time refining the Android 15-based update, and it’s paying off. We can confirm this firsthand. We’ve been running One UI 7.0 since the early beta, and it’s been performing well on our Galaxy S25 Ultra too.
