Samsung’s 2026 mid-range lineup will soon welcome a new member: the Galaxy A27 will join the Galaxy A57 and A37, which were launched last month. While we still do not have a launch date, leaks are piling up. Early details suggest it could bring some meaningful upgrades, particularly in the camera department.

Galaxy A27 may focus on a better selfie experience with a new sensor

According to a new report from GalaxyClub, Samsung is planning to equip the Galaxy A27 with a new 12MP front-facing camera. On paper, that’s a slight drop from the 13MP sensor used in the Galaxy A26, but the change isn’t as straightforward as it seems. The newer sensor reportedly has a larger footprint, which typically results in better light capture.

In real-world terms, that could translate to improved selfies, sharper video calls, and better low-light performance. Samsung appears to be prioritizing image quality over raw megapixel count here. The Galaxy A27 may even capture better selfie videos, going up to 4K resolution at 30fps. That would be a big step up from the Galaxy A26, which can only produce 1080p videos with its selfie shooter.

The rear camera setup, meanwhile, may remain unchanged from the 2025 model. We are talking about a 50MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. While this setup doesn’t introduce anything groundbreaking, it remains a solid configuration for everyday photography.

The Galaxy A27 may also bring a meaningful improvement in performance. Early benchmarks suggest the phone will ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, the same processor used in the Galaxy A36. Samsung may pair the chip with up to 8GB of RAM, though there may be other RAM options. More leaks should surface in the coming weeks as Samsung gears up for its launch.
