Samsung is preparing to launch several new Galaxy devices later this year, and among them are the Galaxy A08 and Galaxy A07s. As we move closer to their debut, both have now appeared on Samsung’s internal test servers, suggesting that development is actively underway.

Galaxy A08 and Galaxy A07s test builds hint at their launch software

Starting with the Galaxy A08, the device first surfaced on the GSMA IMEI database earlier this year, confirming its existence. Now, we have spotted it on Samsung’s Vietnamese test servers carrying firmware version A085FXXU0AZF7. Interestingly, the build uses the newer SHA256 security format.

For those unaware, Samsung has recently started using the SHA256 hash for firmware builds that are based on One UI 9 or higher. This strongly suggests that the Galaxy A08 will launch with Android 17 out of the box. Based on Samsung’s usual launch cycle, the device could make its debut sometime during the final quarter of this year.

Moving to the Galaxy A07s. The phone recently appeared on the Wi-Fi Alliance database. It has now also shown up on internal servers in Vietnam with build number A077FXXU0AZG1.

However, unlike the Galaxy A08, the Galaxy A07s is still using Samsung’s older MD5 hash type. This indicates that the phone is currently running One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 QPR2 and will run the same software at launch.

As for the specs, it’s still too early to say much since very little information is available at the moment. Rising component costs, including memory and chipset prices, could force Samsung to increase pricing for upcoming devices. As a result, both the Galaxy A08 and Galaxy A07s could see an increase in prices despite offering very basic hardware.

That said, Samsung’s second half of the year is shaping up to be a busy one, with several Galaxy launches expected across different segments. As always, we’ll keep you posted as more information surfaces.
