Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 6.1.1 update to the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series. The mid-range tablet lineup is picking up the new feature release in the company’s homeland, South Korea. A global rollout should begin later this week or the next Monday.

One UI 6.1.1 rolls out to the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+

Over the past few weeks, Samsung has rolled out One UI 6.1.1 to all flagship models launched in 2022 and later, including tablets and foldables. For every single device, the rollout began in Korea before expanding to the rest of the world, including the US. The company has now started updating mid-range devices and it’s the same pattern again.

The One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ comes with the following firmware build numbers: X510XXU5BXHB for the former’s Wi-Fi variant, X516NKOU5BXHB for its 5G variant, X610XXU5BXHB for the latter’s Wi-Fi variant, and X616NKOU5BXHB for its 5G variant. The devices are receiving the August security patch.

The update is rolling out over the air (OTA) with a file size weighing around 1.5GB (for the Plus model). The file size may vary depending on the model and connectivity variant but the content remains unchanged. Samsung is pushing a host of new features and functional improvements to the two mid-range tablets, alongside some security enhancements.

Galaxy AI features don’t seem to have made the cut but there are plenty of other goodies to look forward to, including a split-screen toggle when using picture-in-picture mode. Samsung will gradually roll out One UI 6.1.1 to the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ in more markets. If you use these devices, watch out for an update in the coming days. You can manually check for updates from the Settings app.
