Samsung has started rolling out the big Samsung Health update to Galaxy Watches. After arriving on Galaxy smartphones last month, the redesigned Samsung Health v7.0 is now making its way to Wear OS-powered watches. It brings a refreshed interface, redesigned tiles, and several new health and wellness features. However, not every feature will be available immediately on existing Galaxy Watches.
That’s because the latest Samsung Health update is built with Wear OS 7 and One UI 9 Watch in mind. Samsung has yet to roll out One UI 9 Watch to any current model. The new version will ship out of the box on the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 next month and gradually roll out to the existing lineup.
Samsung Health gets a major makeover on Galaxy Watches
The new Samsung Health app introduces a cleaner and more modern design that better matches Samsung’s latest One UI language. This update aligns the watch experience more closely with the redesigned smartphone app, creating a consistent interface across Galaxy devices. Samsung has also reorganized information to make important metrics easier to read at a glance.
Of course, Samsung Health v7.0 isn’t just about visual improvements. The update lays the foundation for several new health tracking capabilities Samsung unveiled earlier this year, including:
- Vitals, a new dashboard that brings together key health metrics in one place
- Sleep Apnea, which delivers insights into breathing disruptions during sleep
- Heart Health Score, offering deeper insights into cardiovascular wellness
- Daily Cardio Load, helping users better understand workout intensity and recovery
- Fitness Index, a holistic view of physical fitness with personalized goals to improve everyday performance
On top of these, Samsung Health is adding expanded wellness recommendations and personalized insights, as well as improved sleep and activity summaries. Together, these additions make the platform feel less like a fitness tracker and more like a comprehensive wellness platform.
However, as mentioned above, most of the new tools and improvements are tied to One UI 9 Watch. As such, they do not work on existing watches even with Samsung Health v7.0. Samsung has yet to announce when One UI 9 Watch will begin rolling out to existing Galaxy Watch models. The company hasn’t even opened a beta program yet. Hopefully, the wait won’t be much longer.
