Samsung got off to an unusual start with its July 2026 security update rollout. Instead of updating its flagship smartphones first, the company prioritized several Galaxy Watch models. It finally released the new patch for the Galaxy S26 series earlier today. Now, the rollout is gathering momentum, with the Galaxy S25 lineup also picking up the latest security fixes.

July 2026 security update live for Galaxy S25 series

The new update is currently available for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in South Korea, Samsung’s home market. It comes with the build version ending in CZG3, while the update file weighs around 600MB, depending on the model. Like the Galaxy S26 update released earlier, this firmware is primarily focused on security, with no new features or functional upgrades.

Samsung has already detailed its July 2026 security patch, so we know what exactly the update brings. This month’s release patches 57 security vulnerabilities affecting various Android OS, One UI, and other system components. Some vulnerabilities are more severe than others, potentially allowing attackers to gain remote access to your device.

As such, you should always install new security updates when available. While not every patch applies to every device, your model certainly gets a few important security fixes. To check if the update is available on your Galaxy smartphone, open Settings, go to Software update, and tap Download and install. If there’s no update for you, wait a few days and check again.

While the July update is a routine security release, Samsung is also preparing a much larger software upgrade for the Galaxy S25 series. The company has already started internal development of One UI 9, its Android 17-based software, for the devices. The update is expected in the final quarter of the year.
