So, what are Samsung’s next smartwatches actually called? A new certification from Thailand answers that. The Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 have appeared in the NBTC certification database, confirming the official names Samsung will use at launch.
Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 clear NBTC certification
Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 have picked up NBTC certification in Thailand. The listing includes model numbers SM-L345F, SM-L355F, and SM-L715F, with the “F” suffix indicating global 4G/LTE variants.
The listing confirms that model numbers SM-L345F and SM-L355F belong to the Galaxy Watch 9, representing two size variants. Model number SM-L715F, meanwhile, belongs to the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which will succeed last year’s Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Recent leaks suggest the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 may include an IP69K rating. It will also feature a larger 800mAh battery. Additionally, Samsung may introduce a new hearing metric on the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 series that tracks noise levels and warns users about prolonged loud sound exposure. Another leak revealed multiple Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 bands in dozens of flavors.
That’s about all the NBTC certification reveals. It confirms Samsung will launch its new wearables as the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, putting recent naming speculation to rest. Both are expected to debut on July 22 in London.
