It’s all but confirmed that Samsung is working on a new Galaxy A phone. What’s expected to launch as the Galaxy A07s has now cleared another regulatory hurdle in the US. The device has appeared in the FCC database with the model number SM-A077M, further confirming that it’s indeed the Galaxy A07s.

Galaxy A07s spotted on FCC after Wi-Fi and IMEI listings

A few days ago, we spotted a mysterious Galaxy smartphone in the Wi-Fi Alliance database carrying the model number SM-A077F/DS. The certification didn’t reveal the phone’s commercial name or any hardware details, but it confirmed that Samsung was preparing another Galaxy A series device.

After digging into the model number, we concluded that it was most likely the Galaxy A07s. That was an interesting discovery, as Samsung hasn’t released an “s” variant in its Galaxy A0x lineup for the past few generations, suggesting the Galaxy A “s” branding could be making a comeback.

That theory made sense when the same SM-A077F/DS model number appeared in the GSMA IMEI database as the Galaxy A07s. It was the first official database to associate the model number with a name.

The newly discovered FCC listing features the SM-A077M variant instead of the international model. As usual, it doesn’t reveal any surprise hardware specs. What the certification suggests however is that Galaxy A07s could be coming to the US as well.
