Meta has launched three new smart glasses in partnership with EssilorLuxottica. The glasses feature 26 styles across a range of colors, lenses, and frames. This comes just as Samsung prepares to step into the intelligent eyewear space with its Galaxy Glasses.

Meta brings affordable smart glasses under its own brand

Meta’s new smart glasses include Meta Adventurer, Meta Fury, and Meta Glasses by Kylie. Unlike the company’s previous smart glasses, which carry Ray-Ban or Oakley branding, the new models are being sold under Meta’s own name. More importantly, the glasses are affordable, with a starting price of $299. That is at least $80 cheaper than the entry-level Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2).

Meta says the new collection offers “distinct silhouettes that suit different faces, moods, and occasions”. The Meta Adventurer features a clean rectangular design in Standard and Large sizes. The Meta Fury comes with a bolder frame for a more impressive look. Meanwhile, Meta Glasses by Kylie feature a slim oval design created in collaboration with Kylie Jenner.

The smart glasses fit easily into day-to-day life thanks to features like three-way adjustable nose pads. They include a dedicated action button that lets you quickly access Meta AI or other features. Open-ear speakers deliver clear audio for calls, music, and more, keeping you aware of your surroundings. An advanced multi-microphone system with wind-noise reduction keeps voice control crisp and sharp.

Furthermore, you can capture photos and videos hands-free. The glasses offer more than eight hours of battery life. Likewise, the portable charging case provides up to 40 additional hours of power. As such, you can wear them from morning to night.

Meta currently maintains a solid position in the smart glasses market thanks to its Ray-Ban intelligent eyewear. However, as more players enter this space, the company has expanded its product lineup with an affordable price point. It seems to be bolstering its lead ahead of Samsung’s entry in this segment.

Samsung recently announced its first smart glasses in collaboration with Google, Qualcomm, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker. The devices run on Android XR with Gemini AI assistant for interactions. The Korean firm will launch the glasses this fall in select regions. In addition, its own intelligent eyewear, tentatively called Galaxy Glasses, could also hit the market later this year.
