Samsung Galaxy Weekly Updates Roundup (June 1-7)

Samsung had another busy week with software updates. The stable One UI 8.5 rollout, especially for budget Galaxy phones, remained Samsungโs top priority. The company also began One UI 9 testing for the Galaxy S25 lineup while pushing the May 2026 security patch to more devices across different regions. Last updated on June 7.
One UI 8.5 expands rapidly, first One UI 9 build for Galaxy S25 series spotted, May 2026 patch reaches more devices
Starting with One UI 9, the first Android 17-based One UI 9 internal build for the Galaxy S25 series appeared on Samsung’s servers this week. While no beta build has surfaced yet, the appearance of internal firmware suggests that Samsung has already started preparing the next phase of testing. If things follow the usual pattern, the first One UI 9 beta build for the Galaxy S25 lineup could appear within the next few weeks, with a beta release for Samsungโs 2025 flagships expected soon as well.
Coming to the biggest highlight of the week โ One UI 8.5 rollout. The Korean giant released the Android 16 QPR2-based update for a large number of Galaxy A, M and F series devices across multiple markets, especially India and other Asian regions. Samsung appears to be moving much faster with One UI 8.5 than previous feature updates, likely to wrap up the rollout quickly and ramp up One UI 9 development.

As always, we track only major regional rollouts. The devices mentioned above have received the update in one or more markets. If your Galaxy device is not on the list yet, don’t worry. Samsung releases updates in phases, so it may take a little longer to reach your region. And if we missed your device, feel free to send me a DM on X at @Mohammed_K_2010.
To install these updates on your Galaxy device, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update finishes downloading, tap Install now. Your device will reboot and complete the installation.
Next week, Samsung could expand the One UI 8.5 rollout to more budget Galaxy devices. We may also see the release of the One UI 9 beta 3 update for the Galaxy S26 series in eligible regions.
