Galaxy S26 Series Sales Beat Galaxy S25 in First Six Weeks: Counterpoint

It’s been some time since Samsung pulled the wraps off the Galaxy S26 series, and the data suggests the company’s having a moment. The latest flagship lineup is off to a strong start, according to fresh figures from Counterpoint Research. Early sales of the Galaxy S26 series have outperformed its predecessor.
Galaxy S26 outperforms S25 early as Ultra model dominates
In the first six weeks after launch, Galaxy S26 series sales were roughly 13% to 15% higher than the Galaxy S25 lineup over the same period last year. That kind of growth shows strong demand, especially after a slow start to the year.
Early momentum was even stronger before things normalized. During the first three weeks, Galaxy S26 series sales jumped nearly 29% year over year. Much of this was driven by launch excitement and aggressive promotions. The research firm further notes that carriers played a big role. They were offering compelling trade-in deals that made upgrading to newer devices far more accessible.
A major factor behind this success is the Galaxy S26 Ultra (review). The premium model accounted for around 71% of total sales, according to Counterpoint. This marks a noticeable increase from last year. Pricing dynamics also helped push buyers toward the Ultra, as smaller differences between models made the top-tier option feel like the smarter long-term choice.
Regionally, performance has been mixed. The series recorded double-digit growth in the United States and South Korea, while Europe also showed solid demand. However, markets like China and Japan didn’t deliver the same level of success, suggesting Samsung still faces challenges in maintaining consistent global performance across different competitive environments.
By week six, comparative sales slipped behind the Galaxy S25’s pace from last year, Counterpoint Research Associate Director Sujeong Lim notes. “As sales reversed in the sixth week after launch, questions are being raised about whether the Galaxy S26 series can sustain its initial momentum going forward,” Lim added.
