Samsung’s long-awaited One UI 8.5 update is turning into a waiting game for Galaxy users. The company was widely expected to roll out the stable version to the Galaxy S25 series last week, but it did not. A fresh leak now suggests the update might finally arrive later this week.

Stable One UI 8.5 rollout for the Galaxy S25 series may be close

Samsung has been testing One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series for several months now. It started public beta in December last year, which means internal testing would have begun in November itself, or even earlier. The lineup has received ten beta updates so far. Samsung has also rolled out multiple beta updates for several other models, including foldables and mid-range devices.

However, it has yet to release the stable version. Since the One UI 8.5 Beta Program is limited to select markets, millions of Galaxy users are still waiting for the new features and enhancements debuted with the Galaxy S26 series. The latest leak brings some hope now.

Tipster @theonecid recently shared a supposed One UI 8.5 rollout schedule for a bunch of Galaxy devices. The roadmap is allegedly specific to Canada, and that’s the most specific part. It says the update could begin rolling out around May 8 for the Galaxy S25 series, along with Samsung’s latest foldables. And since Canada typically receives updates a few days after Korea and some other countries, global rollout could begin soon.

Unfortunately, this is still not an official confirmation from Samsung. The timeline is reportedly based on a carrier rollout plan in Canada. It’s unclear if Samsung shared the dates with the carrier. More importantly, there’s no telling how accurate or updated the schedule is. As mentioned above, Samsung has already missed the original window. So, until more details emerge, this information should be taken cautiously.
