One UI 8.5 beta testing expands while security patch updates roll out
The One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 is now officially live. Their successors, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, received it earlier, and now these models have joined in. Samsung is likely to release multiple beta updates as it continues testing and fixing bugs before the stable rollout.
The Galaxy S23 series, including the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra, has appeared with its first One UI 8.5 beta test builds. This suggests that a beta rollout could happen soon, possibly within the next week in regions like India, Korea, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States. The Galaxy S23 FE has not appeared yet, but it could follow soon based on this yearโs trend with other FE models.
In the foldable lineup, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 have also surfaced with their first One UI 8.5 beta builds. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE has also appeared with a beta build for the global variant, suggesting a rollout in select regions soon.
A series users may finally have something to look forward to. The Galaxy A35, A36 and A54 have appeared with their first One UI 8.5 beta builds, indicating that a beta release could be close. The Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A55 have not appeared yet but are expected to follow soon. There is still no clarity for the Galaxy A56.
The Galaxy S25 trio may receive multiple One UI 8.5 beta updates, possibly up to 10 releases, with testing expected to continue through April. While this may excite some users, it also suggests that the stable rollout could be delayed until early or mid-May, in-line with earlier expectations.
