Samsung has never delayed a software release as much as One UI 7.0. Even the beta, initially expected to roll out in the third quarter, was delayed until December. Despite the Galaxy S25 series launching some time ago, Samsung has yet to begin the stable rollout of One UI 7.0. Reports indicate that more beta rounds are expected before the stable release, pushing the final rollout a few more weeks or months. So, could Samsung make up for this delay with an early One UI 8.0 rollout? It certainly seems possible.
One UI 8.0 rollout will be early, compared to One UI 7.0
According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, One UI 7.0 will arrive โsooner than previously thought.โ It corroborates with an early report from SmartPrix in January that hinted Samsung is already working on One UI 8.0. Itโs clear that Google has already released two beta rounds of Android 16, which is set to launch in Q2.
Since One UI 8.0 will be based on Android 16, an early rollout is likely โ if Samsung is generous enough. As of now, Samsung is struggling to roll out the stable version of One UI 7.0 to eligible devices. While the tipster has not shared a specific timeline, one takeaway is that we might not see One UI 8.0โs beta delayed as much as One UI 7.0โs rollout.
Leaks suggest that the stable Android 16 update for Pixel devices could drop by June 3. Samsung will need some time to test it on their devices before itโs available to the public. The Galaxy S25 series is likely to be the first to receive the update, as it already runs One UI 7. For those with older Galaxy S24 or older, however, the wait may be longer.
