Samsung Revives M4x Series as Galaxy M47 Appears on Test Servers

A few weeks ago, a Samsung device named Galaxy M47 appeared on the IMEI database. Since the company hasn’t launched a new M4x model since 2023, the listing initially raised questions about whether the device was actually in development. Now, those doubts are beginning to fade, as the same model number has surfaced on Samsung’s internal servers.
Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy M47
The Galaxy M47 has appeared on test servers in regions like India and Nepal with the model number SM-M476B. This confirms that Samsung is indeed working on a new M4x series device after a long gap. The last model in the lineup, the Galaxy M44, launched in late 2023. After a gap of nearly three years, the company now appears set to introduce its successor. The Galaxy M47 could launch in the second half of the year with 5G connectivity.
There is not much information available about the specifications yet. However, since it is part of the M series, we can expect competitive pricing, a Super AMOLED display, a large battery, and a balanced overall package. It will likely target online buyers in markets like India and could be sold via Amazon and other online channels.
Samsung may also be looking to change how it names and markets its M and F series devices to reach a wider audience. This could include refreshed branding or slight positioning changes in different regions. This comes as there are no signs of M3x or M5x launches this year, and the Korean giant may skip these segments for now.
The Galaxy F70 Pro should be the Galaxy M47’s F series counterpart. It has not appeared on servers yet, but is expected to carry the model number SM-E476B. Since the launch is still some time away, more details about these devices should surface in the coming weeks. We will keep you updated with the latest developments.
