Genshin Impact is one of the most popular open-world action RPGs, and now you can enjoy it even more on your Galaxy device with controller support. Playing with a controller gives you smoother controls, better precision, and a more comfortable gaming experience. That’s one thing some of our gamer friends will swear by.
Genshin Impact now supports controllers on Android devices including Galaxy
The controller support is coming to Genshin Impact on Android as part of version 5.5, game publisher miHoYo announced. It arrives later this month. According to miHoYo’s latest Developer’s Discussion, the update will officially support four controllers: the DualShock 4 Wireless Controller, DualSense Wireless Controller, Xbox Wireless Controller, and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. These controllers require Bluetooth connectivity, meaning USB-C (wired) gamepads shouldn’t work. You can also try your luck with other usable controllers, albeit they should be wireless with Bluetooth.
After Version 5.5 update, simply go to your phone’s settings and turn on Bluetooth to enable controller. Pair your controller and open Genshin Impact. You can also customize the button layout in the game settings to match your playstyle.
This update has been a long time coming. iOS users have had controller support since February 2021, but Android players were left waiting for years. Until now, Android players had to rely on third-party apps which were mostly unreliable. That’s why native controller support is a great news. I may not be a big gamer, but I’ve always found controllers to offer a more traditional gaming experience.
Genshin Impact Version 5.5 arrives later this month, i.e., March 26, 2025. More details will be revealed during a Special Program Announcement on March 14 via Twitch and YouTube. With controller support finally arriving, it should soon be the time to jump back into Genshin Impact on your Galaxy.
