At the moment, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is the only phone that comes with a Privacy Display feature. It’s different from privacy screen protectors, as it’s implemented at the hardware level, which means you can enable or disable it whenever you want. A new report suggests that the Xiaomi 18 Pro could also feature a Privacy Display.
Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Privacy Display could soon appear on Xiaomi 18 Pro
In a post on Weibo, serial tipster Digital Chat Station notes that an upcoming flagship may include a Privacy Display, along with a 2K Ultra HD display. While the tipster doesn’t explicitly name any product, the speculation suggests they are referring to the Xiaomi 18 Pro.
The source adds that the display uses a combination of hardware and software-based privacy features to keep on-screen content hidden. As a result, it prevents nearby onlookers from easily viewing sensitive information. As someone who uses a Galaxy S26 Ultra as a daily driver, I can confirm how effective it is when you want to keep your screen away from prying eyes.
If this rumor holds, the Xiaomi 18 Pro could be the only other phone to offer such a feature. There are also reports that Privacy Display may arrive on next-generation Samsung flagships like the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro. That said, the chances of the feature appearing on devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra or the Galaxy Z Fold 8 seem quite slim. Samsung doesn’t even plan to bring Privacy Display to its base flagships.
Either way, we should know more in the coming weeks, as Xiaomi prepares to launch the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max around September. Both phones may ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipsets, along with dual 200MP rear cameras.
