Samsung is preparing an update for its Wonderland app for Galaxy devices running One UI 8. The new version will bring the ability to choose the direction of the blur effect (horizontal or vertical) for lock screen transitions. The update should begin rolling out globally to all eligible users in the coming weeks.

You will be able to set the horizontal and vertical blur direction

Part of Samsung’s Good Lock suite, the Wonderland module lets you create animated wallpapers for both the lock screen and home screen. You just need to select an image and then add a motion effect to make your wallpaper move. To add visual elements, you can use the particle effect feature.

With One UI 8, Samsung now aims to offer more customization options to enhance the Galaxy experience. Note that the company has yet to mark the Wonderland app as One UI 8 compatible officially, but you can still use it without any issues. Of course, it currently misses out on One UI 8-specific features, but the company will add them once it officially supports the new software.

However, ahead of the official release, a community moderator has revealed what’s coming in the new version of the Wonderland app. The update will bring an improved blur effect for lock screen transitions. You will be able to set the blur direction — either horizontal or vertical — within the Blur type. This means you will get a more visually appealing transition experience when unlocking the device.

As for when Samsung will push the update, there’s no official release date yet, but it should not take long. The Korean firm has already updated a number of Good Lock modules for One UI 8 devices, so the Wonderland update is expected to follow soon. You can keep an eye on the Good Lock app’s plugins tab for updates. We will also let you know once the latest version becomes available. Stay tuned.
