Samsung is rolling out updates to Good Lock, and a handful of its modules. For the uninitiated, Good Lock is Samsungโs suite of customization apps for Galaxy smartphones. With these apps, you can do everything โ from modifying your keyboard, to setting crazy notification effects with popcorn and hearts. Letโs take a look at whatโs new.
Good Lock stability patch
The Good Lock app itself got a minor update to version 3.0.10.3, and with it comes one listed change. โFixed an issue where the app sometimes fails to launch.โ We havenโt come across this error ourselves, but itโs always reassuring to have a stable app experience.
Edge Lighting+ is also more stable
Edge Lighting+ is the fairly new module that lets you set custom effects when receiving notifications. This app is also getting a minor stability update, with version 7.0.00.12. The changelog also only states a single change, โFixed an issue leading to unexpected app closure during effect processing at startup of One UI 7 devicesโ.
Wonderland gets a more substantial update for S25 and S24 devices
With the version 1.6.07 update, we get not one, not two, but four listed changes! But thereโs a catch, this is only available to devices running One UI 7, which did get leaked release dates, but were later refuted by Samsung beta moderators. But hey, if you did want to grab a supported device, you could pick up an S25 Ultra and take advantage of our Mystery Box program until March 1st.
Firstly, this version lets you set a wallpaper effect just on your lock screen, not affecting the home screen. Second, you now get live previews of any effects you apply, useful for testing different styles. Third, the colour of the lock screen clock will now adapt to the colour of your Wonderland wallpaper, enhancing readability. And finally, it fixes a bug where โvideo files were unable to be addedโ, which is good news for those setting a video as their wallpaper.
Quickstar got a patch too
After the long wait for Quickstar on One UI 7.0 devices, Samsung issued a minor stability patch to the new version.. Version 8.1.02.21 brings along โImproved app stabilityโ. It is always good to see optimizations being made.
Where do I get these updates?
Itโs super simple to grab these updates. All you have to do is go to the Galaxy Store, then Menu, and tap Updates. Then simply tap Update All to install them all. Easy as that. Keep in mind that all Galaxy Store updates roll out in stages, so it may be a while before these particular versions appear on your device.
