Samsung has rolled out significant updates to its Calendar and Reminder apps, bringing new features and improvements to enhance user experience. These updates are available on May 29th. They will continue to hit other markets using the usual staged roll out model. Below are some of the key changes, fixes, and improvements for each update.

Samsung Calendar Update (Version 12.5.03.17)

The latest update to Samsung Calendar brings several new features and improvements:

  • Sticker Sync in Shared Calendar: Users can now sync stickers in Samsung shared calendars, allowing for more personalized and visually appealing calendar entries. This feature makes it easier to track events and tasks with visual cues.
  • Adding Events in Cover Calendar Widget: The update supports adding events directly from the cover calendar widget. This functionality is especially useful for quick event management without needing to open the full calendar app.
  • Updated Date Selector UI: Moving along, the date selector user interface is newly improved, offering a more intuitive and visually appealing way to select dates. This enhancement aims to streamline the process of scheduling and managing events.
  • Refreshed Samsung Wallet UI: The Samsung Wallet UI has been updated for a more cohesive and user-friendly experience. This refresh aligns the wallet’s interface with the overall design aesthetics of Samsung’s ecosystem.
  • Lunar Date Repetition Setting: The lunar date repetition setting is now refreshed, providing better support for users who follow the lunar calendar. This feature is  useful for scheduling events and reminders based on lunar dates.

Reminder App Update (Version 12.5.03.16)

The Reminder app has also received several key updates to enhance functionality and user experience:

  • Cover Screen Widget for Galaxy Flip Series: A new cover screen widget is introduced for the Galaxy Flip series, allowing users to manage reminders directly from the cover screen. This feature provides quick access to important tasks and reminders without unfolding the device.
  • View Button for Changing Categories or Restoring Completed Reminders: Next, update includes a view button that appears when changing categories or restoring completed reminders. This addition simplifies the process of managing and organizing reminders, making it easier to track and review tasks.

These updates reflect Samsung’s commitment to continuously improving its apps to meet user needs and enhance productivity. The new features in the Samsung Calendar and Reminder apps provide greater convenience and flexibility, catering to a wide range of user preferences and requirements. The Reminder update is somewhat minor. On the other hand, this Calendar update is quite sizable and brings interesting features for all users.
