Over the past few weeks, leaks have revealed plenty about Samsung’s One UI 7.0, the big Android 15-based update for Galaxy devices. Alongside new features and performance improvements, it brings visual enhancements. The company has improved system animations, redesigned app icons, and revamped the user interface. A recent post by an X user shows an interesting stackable icon concept for One UI 7.0.
One UI 7.0 could introduce stackable homescreen icons
X user @BennettBuhner recently posted a video showing stackable homescreen icons. The feature lets you stack multiple icons on the homescreen to save space. Tapping the base icon expands the stack to reveal other stacked icons. It is functionally similar to app folders but visually more appealing. Also, unlike folders, stacked icons only show one app icon on the homescreen, so it can be used to hide apps from the main view.

The user initially claimed this is a One UI 7.0 feature, exciting Samsung Galaxy users like me. However, it turned out their source had faked the video. It was just a concept they created themselves and passed on as if they captured the video on a Samsung phone running One UI 7.0. As the X user recently clarified, their source doesn’t even have access to the internal One UI 7.0 build. They have been faking it all along.
Nonetheless, it looks like a nice concept that Samsung could implement on its custom Android skin. It will give users more choices, which is always a good thing. Rumors say One UI 7.0 beta will begin in the third week of August, so we still have some time to go. Expect more leaks ahead of that. The Galaxy S24 series should get the beta update first. We will let you know when beta registrations begin. The stable Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update is expected in late October or early November.
