Samsung One UI 7.0 Promises Silky Smooth Animations, Beta Begins Soon

by | Jul 29, 2024 | News, One UI

Over the past few weeks, we have heard much about Samsung’s One UI 7.0. Based on Android 15, the new One UI version will bring a major UI overhaul, including a redesigned Quick Panel with a separate notification section and completely reworked app icons. As we inch closer to the first beta build, more information has hit the internet to excite Galaxy users. System animations on Galaxy devices might finally feel like gliding on silk, a smoothness we’ve all longed for dearly.

Samsung to improve system animations with One UI 7.0

Samsung’s One UI is one of the most heavily customized and feature-rich Android skins. However, system animations haven’t been up to the mark. It’s not overly lagging or anything, but it’s not quite that silky smooth experience you expect from a flagship phone. Rumors say that will finally change this year. The company is said to substantially improve the smoothness of One UI animations with the Android 15-based One UI 7.0, which may enter the beta stage anytime now.

Reliable tipster Ice Universe says the update will improve the response time and visuals when you transition from one page to another across various system apps. Coupled with a revamped UI and redesigned app icons, we are in for a refreshed Galaxy experience this year. Leaks have also hinted at new homescreen and lockscreen customizations, status bar icons (battery indicator and others), redesigned stock camera app, vertical app drawer, and more UI changes.

Additionally, Samsung is introducing a status bar shortcut for some active apps like stopwatch and voice recorder. It functions similarly to Apple’s Dynamic Island on iPhones. We have already seen it in action thanks to leaks. Leaks have also revealed the overhauled Quick Panel and some of the redesigned app icons, including the Camera, Internet, Clock, Phone, Contacts, Settings, and Weather. You can have a look at all of these design and UI changes in the images below.

When will the beta program begin?

While there have been rumors about Samsung potentially opening the One UI 7.0 beta program on July 29, it’s looking unlikely. Ice Universe says the current build is too unstable and buggy. The company needs more time to refine it before rolling it out to users. Or maybe it’s ready to push the first beta build, we shall find out soon. Since One UI 7.0 is still in the development stage, the Korean firm could make further changes to the UI design and app icons before public rollout.

We will keep you posted on the latest information about Samsung’s One UI 7.0 and Android 15 update. The Galaxy S25 Ultra and other Galaxy S25 models will run the new OS version out of the box. The devices arrive early next year, but we have already opened signups for our free mystery box program. You can sign up here to get a set of free accessories when you order the phone. Let us know in the comments below if you face any issues while signing up or what to share your thoughts on One UI 7.0.
